There are a few specifics regarding weapon and armor that you need to keep track of. "Body armor" only includes items worn on your torso d2r items for sale. General "armor" includes shields, boots, gloves, helms, etc. Hammers can't be used with runewords meant for maces. "Melee weapons" do not include melee weapons like the crossbow and bow. Orbs are also not considered melee weapons.

When creating runewords are based on different stats, which determine how good of a roll you've come up with. A perfect roll of runewords is always worth a lot over a poor roll. The same way using the best base for a runeword (an item that has sockets) can be recommended.

In the case of designing a runeword you want to equip on a mercenary use an Ethereal base. Mercenary weaponry and armor doesn't break down, and they can benefit from an increase in stats due to the Ethereal property and not worry about it ever breaking. Each little boost to stats is counted when playing Diablo 2: Resurrected.

Runewords can be fitted to any kind of character. They'll receive any bonuses associated with the runewords unless specifically stated. That means you can equip, say, a Beast runeword on an Sorceress and grant her the power of turning into the form of a Werebear. This creates a diverse set of builds cheap D2R ladder items, and gives players plenty of options in terms of exciting playstyles.
